After weeks of wet weather the sun finally shone on the 15th annual ploughing match run by the East Anglian branch of the Ferguson club. The match was held by kind permission of the Turner family of Ampton Hall Estates.
In all 45 vintage and classic tractors took part, including 3 lady tractor drivers. Each driver received a plaque kindly sponsored by Silver Fox tractor spares ltd and the winners of the various classes a cup or trophy by the Ferguson Club. Ploughing conditions were quite difficult because of the wet weather but most ploughmen made an excellent job.
A large donation was sent to the Papworth Hospital Charity. Thanks to all – Henry Castle.

The total amount raised is now in for the 2017 Chiltern Tractor Run.
£6,902-05 – a truly phenomenal amount and this sum makes it a new record for the Ferguson Club Chiltern vintage tractor run. Last years record has been broken and the organisers are amazed at the tremendous support from all those that took part and provided the sponsorship and generous donations. Thank you!
The running total for monies raised by this event is now over £40,000.
All monies raised go to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance. This air ambulance service is now operating at the highest standards with full night time operations now approved. It provides a vital service to the Thames Valley Community. The Ferguson Club through this fund raising event are delighted to play a small part in that vital community service.
It was the annual Mid Suffolk Tractor road run which took place on 9th July.40 tractors took part and the drivers came from all parts of Suffolk ,Norfolk and a married couple came from Bourn,Cambridge. The weather was fine, too hot for some, and everyone had a very enjoyable day. The event was organised by Ferguson Club member,Don Sapsford and several other Club members took part. The route took us through various villages in Suffolk including Wetherden,Bacton,Haughley and Finningham.People came out to wave as we went past.Even the local traffic was quite happy to pull over to let the convoy come through. After a mid morning stop for lunch everyone got back safely to the starting point in the afternoon. On return an excellent raffle was held and together with the entry fee a total of £ 989 was collected on behalf of the Macmillan nurses.
Each driver received a plaque donated by a local firm to remind them of the day.
MH Pony 820D – Help please!
‘I am looking for some advice please regarding my MH Pony 820D tractor, with the Hanomag 2 cyl. diesel engine which has ‘blown’ the pepperpot twice and I wonder if anyone who may have a similar tractor which has had the same problem. I would be grateful for any advice especially as the tractor is for sale, along with all it’s spares and implements (see advert in Farm Shop)’

Most drivers and passengers dressed up accordingly and the weather was ideal. All monies raised go to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, so far the event has raised over £34,500.
