Ferguson, for tipping a trailer

Hi,
Can anyone advise me on how I can use my Ferguson TEF-20 to tip an old grain carting trailer. It does not have a trailer tipping pipe on. I do not know where to fit a trailer tipping pipe to on the Ferguson and do not know how it will work once it has been fitted as there is no lever to use to tip the trailer.

If you search for 'ferguson tipping pipe' you'll find a length of steel pipe that connects into the left side of the gearbox at one end, and a bracket on the other bolts it to the left halfshaft casting. It usually has a Dowty type screw coupling on it, you may need to change the trailer coupling to suit.
There isn't a separate lever, just connect the trailer then bring the quadrant lever all the way up and it should tip. Be careful, trailers have a breather hole in the ram casing which will often fire a load of oil/gunge out as it reaches the top of the first stage - directed right at the operator!

Generally they only do it at first tip if it's been stood a while. Of course, you will need to observe the first tip from the side so your apprentice must operate the lever for you
