Starting Ted 20

Hi, Can somebody please confirm how to start a Fergie Ted 20

I turn the Key, foot on the clutch and push gear lever towards S However the gear level does not engage into S like it does with the other gears, Should it click into S?

Hi,
Key on, don't really need the clutch, gear lever to S. From memory it should feel like pushing against a spring - it should not click into place and stay there!
Does the engine turn over and start?

Hi,

I have turned the key on, tried pushing the Gear lever into S but it just feels like I am pushing against something solid. The engine starts to turn over, but does not start.

I know the Battery is flat, so I have been using a Noco Boost pack to help turn over.

I am just not sure regarding the Gear lever going into S.

If the engine is turning over in S then in my opinion it's doing what it should.
Without a decent battery it will be difficult check what is working correctly and what isn't.
