Sorry I have just purchased this and am struggling a little with the oil needed for the transmission/back axle. Can anyone help please?
Sorry for the double post, thought I’d add some more information. I’m going to replace the damaged PTO shaft. The oil looks milky, so will replace it at the same time. We live in the Highlands of Scotland, so it gets pretty cold, not sure if that is a factor.
I’m only 17 years old, so just starting out.

Hi James
When the tractor was new it would have tractor oil SAE/40, in the engine and back end. Most people now just use basic universal oil 20/30 or classic universal oil. Try not to use one that has STOU, in its name. Before you drain your back end oil give the tractor a good run to warm the oil up before draining the oil.
Sandy.
