Hello,
I've just refurbished the fuel lift pump (with the agriline kit) on my TE-F-20 but it seems to be leaking some oil out of where the cotter pin is, and also some fuel leaking through the gasket where the diaphragam is, when it runs.
Some oil is also leaking out of the dipstick also the breather.
The crankcase vent breather mesh is also really gunked up. If I put a new filter in (or cleaned the existing one) would this lead to less oil pressure, leading to less leaks through the cotter pin on the lift pump?
Thanks.
TEF fuel pump leak & oil leak
Re: TEF fuel pump leak & oil leak
Hi.
Cleaning or replacing the mesh filter will make a difference to the back pressure, and should stop it blowing as much oil out, as long as the engine is in reasonable condition.
Difficult to say whats wrong with the lift pump sealing, there is an article in Journal 104 Spring 23 in the club members area that explains about fitting a lift pump repair kit.
Regards
Sandy.
