Can anyone tell me what is the difference between the petrol and TVO manifolds?
They both look visually identical plus It seems the cylinder head, exhaust outlet and carburettor flange are the same, but the manifold itself is listed as different between the two.
The only thing I can see is different between the two is that the TVO has a separate heat shield fitted over the manifold, so I'm wondering if the TVO has different features to accommodate this.
TEA and TED Manifolds
Re: TEA and TED Manifolds
The main 2 differences are 1 you have already said the heat shield, the other difference is the amount of heat transferred from the exhaust to the inlet manifold to vaporise the TVO fuel. Each manifold manufacturer had there own design which varies a little bit.

Re: TEA and TED Manifolds
If you look closely at the centre body of the manifold, the TEA has gaps, whereas the TED is solid to retain heat.
When I asked the question, most said it won't make much difference as long as you keep the heat shield on... others suggested removing an running on petrol only.
The other option is to get an "aftermarket" manifold such as the Loddon or Vapormatic.
