Hydraulics not working,

Post by Fergi20 »

Hi, tractor has been standing for over thirty years with the arms in the raised position. I've removed the top cover to free off the cross shaft. I know the control valve is connected and is moving. But with the tractor running no oil is coming up to the top cover. Any ideas.

Is the pto in gear?

Hi, yes that's going round all okay. Just not pumping anything up the pipe to the top cover.

Yes, that's the first thing I checked.

If the control valve is connected to the fork, and the spring etc. on the valve is all ok, then unfortunately sounds like a pump rebuild job. I've never done one so sorry can't advise on that.

Well, to drop the pump out it's side panels off, reach in to disconnect the valve, remove the pto shaft, and undo the bolts. the pump and bottom plate drop straight out.
