MF188 Age

Post by Tim188 »

I have recently purchased a MF 188 to restore and want to age this from the serial number. Can anyone help by letting me have a dating guide for the 188.
Would anybody have a breakdown of what the letters below the serial number stand for.
Thanks Tim

Hi Tim
Production started late 1971 at serial number 350001, 1972 started serial number 350006, 1973 started serial number 353296, 1974 started serial number 357063, 1975 started serial number 360783, 1976 started serial number 365087. If the letters under the serial number are FG, that = Multi-Power with high capacity pump, fitted to your tractor.

Thanks for this Sandy. It has told me that my tractor is a 73 year. However I now understand the FG is multipower but what do the letters HP stand for.
