Hydraulic oil pressure/oil flow rate MF 35x

Post by Wildlife Splash »

Hi, Joined today, looking to acquire a 35x for small works in a 20 acre woodland in High Weald. I've a hydraulic log splitter that requires 150 bar and a oil flow rate of 12 litres per minute. This has to be a constant flow, so hydrauic oil would need to be able to flow back into oil tank.

Does the Massey Ferguson 35x have this performance on its hydraulics and can it receive oil back to maintain constant pressure?

Thanks.for any insights on this and any modifications required would be appreciated 👍

Hi,
If it's a standard type push-pull ram system then a 35 should be fine. Supply to the splitter's spool valve would be from the tipping pipe, but you would need a return - usually a modified filler plug with a coupling on it, often home made.
From memory, the position lever (round top) should have a setting on the quadrant marked 'Constant Pumping'. That should give you the supply.
What could possibly go wrong?
