Hi all,
So I bought a TEA20 between Christmas and New Year very happy with the little beast, got it for a sanity check as I tend to use a lot of computers at work and then you come out and watch the telly, so it's a little bit of a project.
Join the club shortly after, happy days.
So the little beastie ran reasonably well until higher reps where the governor decided to go into buckaroo mode, which is no problem really, obviously to get at the governor you need to get in behind the timing chain cover so that's what I did, took the front off axle and stuff lovely jubbly got parts ordered marvellous, thought I take the head off as the oil was quite gunky, took the sump off, and whilst I was this far in I thought I might as well do the sleeves and pistons, making a nice little tool up to remove the sleeves. I remove the sleeves happy days all looking well.
Everything stripped out apart from the crank, the cleaning process started,
This is now where the advice is required have been cleaned inside the water jacket and the push rod enclosures. I think I can see a couple of little cracks in the block at the base of the studs the bolt the head down, this is at stud two and four. Hopefully you can see this in the pictures attached
It would seem that the studs two and four lean towards push rod enclosures and not vertical in the other picture
So the question is, what's my angle of attack? Do I just put this back together? Not torquing these two bolts down too much? Or do I need to approach it from a different angle and perhaps welded up .
Has anybody seen this before? This is an 85 mm piston engine?
happy days
