From the serial number, TED 136404 = Mid May 1950. All that I can tell you about the engine is Standard, Petrol / T V O.

Going from the engine serial number the engine should be 85 mm bore, 4.8 compression, and 23.9 belt horse power.

Hi, I have a lovely old tractor and want to understand which model I have so that I can identify which battery I need to get and generally what it can do. The Vin Number is SNF231670. The tractor will not start and I am told it is the battery that needs replacing. Do you know what the model is ? Do you know the type of battery I need to buy?

From the details you have listed your tractor should be. Massey Ferguson 35, 3 Cylinder, Single Clutch. Year 1961.
Battery = 643.
