Transmission oil leak

Hi,
I've noticed a leak under my 1955 TEF, unusually there was a split pin underneath the casing, does anyone know if this is normal and if it can be fixed?
It's dripping quite badly from the spit pin but I'm not too sure what can be done to stop it!

The split pin is known as a wriggle pin. The idea is that if there is a leak from the rear main crank seal or the gearbox input shaft seal it will drain out through this hole instead of flooding the clutch. They put in the split pin so it wriggles around in the bottom of the bell housing and keeps the hole clear.

At a glance I'd say that's gear oil.
