Hello all,
New member and new owner of a 1951 TED20 Ferguson that I found in a barn locally. It has been heavily restored at some point but sadly neglected for many years since. It now runs beautifully with a clean fuel tank and new carb but it would be pleasant if it would come to a halt equally well. It has the Girling kidney cam brakes but the bronze crown wheel and adjuster pinion have both been damaged in the past, the teeth are missing/damaged badly on a large part of both the Crown wheel and pinion. I'm wondering if anyone knows a source where these parts can be obtained, I seem to be drawing a total blank. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Adrian

Hi Adrian
There is one new TE 20 brake adjuster on eBay. The other thing you could do is adjust the shoes out as far as possible before slipping the drum on, if the drum has a small ridge at the edge grind this away to let the drum slip on with the shoes adjusted out. You may have to take the drums off and on a couple of times to balance the brakes.
Please feel free to call my number its in the Journal.
Sandy.

Hello Sandy,
Thank you for your kind reply and apologies for not replying sooner. Have found the adjuster on ebay but the price is eye watering. Will try your solution, tractor is at a friends place and he has a fork lift to hand so lifting the tractor to explore options is easy. The drums look new, no ridge at all and the brake linings look like they have seen little service so will try your fix before ordering anything. I am very grateful for your advice.
I have found one supplier that does seem to stock the parts but not in stock at moment, have left a message for them to get back to me when back in stock, half the ebay price too. No hurry at the moment as waiting for DVLA to confirm transfer of ownership, original reg number and details to myself.
Thank you again Sandy, all help is greatly appreciated.
