Topper problems

Hi all I have a problem using a Big Bee Agri 5 topper on my Ferguson
The Ferguson is a 6volt (now 12v) petrol only fergie I have fitted an over run clutch/PTO increaser to the original PTO and had adjusted the length of the PTO for the implement, the problem is that when I lower the arms the topper digs into the ground and will not slid along, have tried to adjust the tail wheel but it still digs in I have also tried to lower the linkage pins on the topper to raise the deck but it still digs in and the topper stalls

any suggestions please

What top link are you using?

Ok, if you put the whole rig on a hard flat surface and drop the topper on the ground, does it sit level side to side and front to back?
Next, are the front slides/skids in good condition / worn / missing?

Hi when the topper is on the ground it is flat and level with the rear wheel sitting on the ground, The skids are there and are in good condition
An idea I have had is to fit a couple of chains to limit the distance the arms will drop

You're heading the right way, a Ferguson mower would have a special top link with a toothed rack along the top edge. a chain from the lower link pins ran up over the top link and the height was adjusted by moving the chain along the teeth. You could achieve something similar with a ratchet strap around the lower links and the knuckle pin.

I have used 2 check chains that restrict the travel of the lift arms just cut the paddock with no problem
