Oil capacity and grade for axle/gearbox
Hi, can't seem to find anything on here (maybe not looked hard enough !)
I think the oil capacity for the gearbox and axle is about 23 litres but what grade oil is used .. SAE 90 ?

Hi Sandy, Yes, the sump has been off and the filter cleaned out. Rear main seal replaced. Timing gear etc all off and new gaskets / seals where appropriate. Head has been off and de-coked etc. Seems that the hub with the smaller outer diameter bearing is possibly not a TE20 stub either as it also ha...

So straight 40 is the oil to use. I did read that some use 30 which is a bit thinner I guess.
Interesting that only one stub is used, maybe it is therefore possible to use hub with the more standard size 62mm bearings.
