Hi, I hav3 a 1961 35 gas deluxe with alternator….just finished rewiring it and something is not right….
Everything seemed right until I mounted the starter motor….The starter motor is reading shorted from +post to housing…I went ahead and hooked up since it was working fine before removed….we’ll, when I tried starting, the solenoid clicked once and quit……I think it shorted it…..so, I ordered a new starter motor, but it also is reading shorted from post to housing? Is this right?
I replaced to solenoid without connecting to starter…and it works fine, clicks closed with push of the button….help!…..I tried to spin the starter motor with jumper cables on the bench….but it just sparked a- assuming cause it’s shorted?
