MF 35X Fuel filter questions

Hello all, I have just inherited a 35X im having a few problems with the fuel system.
1, I cant get the glass bowl before the fuel pump to seat correctly, is there a trick to it?
2, I have snapped the bleed screw off the primery fuel filter housing, ive tried everywhere but just cant find somewhere to purchase a new one??
