TED 20 rear main seal

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to replace a TED 20 rear main oil seal with the rear main bearing in situ. There was a video on Bundy Bear's shed in which he seemed to do just that, but Youtube seemed to have removed the channel, and I cannot find any other info. The problem is the gap between the rear flywheel flange and rear main bearing journal is too narrow to allow the seal past.

As far as I can remember you will have to drop the rear main to change the seal.
