Hello , just wondering steering box oil type and quantity , have syphoned old oil out

Hi. Originally the steering box would have a 40 grade oil like SAE 40 engine oil. Have also used M.E.P. 90 gear oil. Not sure on the exact quantity of oil, just fill to below the filler hole.
