Engine overhaul of Ferguson hertfordshire

Hello,
We have a Ferguson TEF20 and we believe the engine needs new pistons and liners as we are getting a lot of oil leaking through the breather and dipstick and blue smoke and high oil pressure. Does anyone know of any specialist engineers in the Hertfordshire region that would be able to complete a full rebuilt of the diesel engine.
Thanks.

Hi.
Your post is a few months old now so to may be sorted.
I had exactly the same to issue with my TEF and decided to have go myself although never done such a job, I did find a friend who was able to give me the steps.

I'm happy to help by texting or a call if that might help

Hello David Lewis,
We have not had it looked at yet, it could be an option to do it ourselves but due to lack of experience on rebuilding engines and engine tools it may be quite hard. It could be an option to rebuild it ourselves though. Did you by any chance use the agriline kit for the rebuild? If so was there much more you needed to buy in addition to this?
Thank you.

Sorry forgot to look back at this forum.
I have just at the stage of putting the tank back in and refuelling ready for it's first start since...
New pistons
New liners
New rings and gudgeon pins
New shells
New valves and stem seals
Gaskets
Oil etc
First piston took a while, next 3 took 2 evenings. It's fiddly.
You do need 2 people.
You needs piston ring compression tool and valve spring compression tool, otherwise imperial sockets and spanners and some spare but if bar etc.
I enjoyed it, not done it before and fingers crossed it works ( next weekend I'll know).
I bought sparex bits from malpas online and a couple of bits from agriline or VTS. Piston set actually off eBay as original stock!
But a whole overhaul set is also easy
Happy for a phone call to chat if that helps and I've not left it too late for you.
Regards
