Hi, Firstly thank you for letting me join the Forum.

We have recently bought a Ferdie Ted 20 Vapourising Oil Tractor and I have some questions please.

Is the Battery a positive earth? (If so the battery had been temporarily fitted the wrong way around)

Does the Tractor run of petrol then paraffin or do I need to buy specific TVO?

Where can I get the small bulb on the dashboard (I assume its a warning light) and is it a 6v or 12v

I think we nay have all of the parts to get the tractor running, but may have some more questions.

Hi Alwyn.

The tractor would originally be positive earth, may have been changed to negative earth it`s just a case of polarizing the dynamo to suite the earth type.

Start the tractor on petrol then change to TVO, you require a licence to buy or mix TVO.

You should be able to get a bulb form any parts supplier

Depending on the serial number of the tractor it could 6v or 12v, the best way to determine the voltage is to check voltage stamped on the dynamo.

Some early 6 volt tractor where changed to 12 volts, but still used 6 volt starters with a 12 volt battery.
