Hi all,
I have a Ferguson serial number TEA125328. When I looked it up in a Ferguson history book I thought it was a 1950 petrol 12V, but it has a split fuel tank which I've been told means it's TVO and possibly 6V. Can anyone confirm? It could be a "bitzer" so how do I determine what I've actually got? It needs new wiring, a battery, and then I'm hoping to fire it up for the first time in over a decade.
Thanks
Ant
TVO or Petrol? 12V or 6V?
Re: TVO or Petrol? 12V or 6V?
I now have the engine number: S74789E
And there' a number in the cylinder head casting: 56236
Key question - Petrol or TVO.

Re: TVO or Petrol? 12V or 6V?
Good evening
Your serial number identifies your tractor as being a 1950 Ferguson TEA20 (straight petrol) it would originally have been 6v as tractors were not changed to 12v during production until 1951.
However as you have a split tank your tractor has likely been converted during its working life to run on TVO as well, this was quite a common thing to happen, do you also have a heat shield covering the manifold?
