Paint

Hi all. Learnt to drive on a Fergie 65 years ago mowing school playing field. Since then I've rebuilt a Series 2 Lotus Elite, a Triumph TR3A and a Series one Land Rover. Also built a Ford GT40 from a kit over Covid with a 5 litre V8. Now I've gone back to my roots and bought a "working" 1955 TED20. Sadly a previous owner has done a real bodge paint job and not done any real prep so the paint is peeling off. I'm going to have to strip it back to bare metal/decent paint. My question is what paint to reapply. Single or 2 part red oxide primer, undercoat etc etc. All information gratefully received.
