Re: Fitting lights to the ferguson TEF20
Many years ago I fitted my TEF with lights. I put Rubbolite side/tail light units on the top of the mud guards and for 'head lights' I found a couple of work lights off a Massey 40 loader, painted grey, on each side of the bonnet. These were all wired together on a simple on/off toggle switch. If yo...

Re: Ferguson, for tipping a trailer
Generally they only do it at first tip if it's been stood a while. Of course, you will need to observe the first tip from the side so your apprentice must operate the lever for you

Re: Ferguson, for tipping a trailer
If you search for 'ferguson tipping pipe' you'll find a length of steel pipe that connects into the left side of the gearbox at one end, and a bracket on the other bolts it to the left halfshaft casting. It usually has a Dowty type screw coupling on it, you may need to change the trailer coupling to...

Re: Topper problems
You're heading the right way, a Ferguson mower would have a special top link with a toothed rack along the top edge. a chain from the lower link pins ran up over the top link and the height was adjusted by moving the chain along the teeth. You could achieve something similar with a ratchet strap aro...

Re: Transmission oil leak
The split pin is known as a wriggle pin. The idea is that if there is a leak from the rear main crank seal or the gearbox input shaft seal it will drain out through this hole instead of flooding the clutch. They put in the split pin so it wriggles around in the bottom of the bell housing and keeps t...

Re: Topper problems
Ok, if you put the whole rig on a hard flat surface and drop the topper on the ground, does it sit level side to side and front to back?
Next, are the front slides/skids in good condition / worn / missing?

Re: TEF20 Oil service
A better description would be that the lid flips through 90deg., so the spring still holds it captive but the lid is out of the way.
I've just had a good search around and found this video, lid action at 7:10.

Re: TEF20 Oil service
I think if you lift it a little and move it to one side, it has a sort of hook shaped fitting underneath which allows the lid to lock on to the side of the filler neck without removing it.
