Re: TEF starter motor
To be honest I would find a good engineering firm close to yourself and have the original starter rebuilt, it will be far better quality than a new one and once refurbished will be just the job.

When you changed your oil what grade did you use, they like a straight SAE 30 or 40 in them, don't use a multigrade as the detergent will clean out accumulated build...

Re: Tvo mixture
If you don't want to mix yourself you can buy premixed from rye oils, who will deliver it you just have to mix a bit of petrol in to complete the mix when it arrives with you

Re: TVO or Petrol? 12V or 6V?
Good evening Your serial number identifies your tractor as being a 1950 Ferguson TEA20 (straight petrol) it would originally have been 6v as tractors were not changed to 12v during production until 1951. However as you have a split tank your tractor has likely been converted during its working life ...

Linkbox
After rescuing my linkbox earlier this year from its resting place I have decided to make this my next project, now I have finally set up a workshop at home. It's not in too bad a condition with rot in the usual places in the corners. Now I have a few places where the rust has not eaten all the way ...

Re: TEF 20 oil
Engine is about 6.8L to fill back end around 22L from memory, plus you will need a drop of oil for the oil bath air cleaner

Re: TEF 20 oil
Hi, Most important is to use a good quality old fashioned mineral oil with no modern detergents in it which can damage an old engine. I use 20w 50 in the engine ( I'm using Castrol at moment but brand down to personal preference) and 15w 40 in back end. I have just found this works well for me as th...
