Ferguson Working record Attempt - Finn Valley - Co.Donegal
Calling All Ferguson Tractor Enthusiasts We are a small group of men from the beautiful Finn Valley region in Co. Donegal which is situated in the North West of Ireland, and our aim is to raise much needed funds for 8 local charities. Our event is the brainchild of our founder Alan Robb who in 2014 secured a Guinness World Record for the largest number of Ferguson tractors tilling the ground at the same time and the record of 726 still remains. This was a very successful event with a footfall of approx. 8000 people and we hope to maximise the experience of that event in 2016 as it is year of many anniversaries in the Ferguson kingdom. We are hoping this year to break our own record of 726 tractors tilling the ground at the same time as well as attempt several more world record all involving Ferguson tractors. One of the records we hope to attempt is the Massey Logo and another is a timeline of tractors, so hopefully Guinness World Records will look favourably on our applications. Our event which will run from 16th to 18th September will be a fun filled weekend with events and activities to suit all ages and gender. We are delighted and honoured that Mrs Fleming....Harry Ferguson's granddaughter....will attend the event, as will the Official Harry Ferguson Memorial Band.....Mrs Fleming will perform the official opening as well as inspect and judge for the best presented tractor in the timeline. Attached you will find an editorial which has ben sent to some of the tractor magazines and this will give you a brief on the event. Music will also form another aspect of our event with outdoor entertainment during the day and each night will conclude with dancing in our barn to well know Country and Irish Bands. We would be much obliged if you could promote our event to your clubs and any of your members wishing to join us (with or without tractors) will be more than welcome. Our face book page is Ferguson World Record Re-Match 2016 and this is updated on a regular basis. Our Chairman is Derek Long and he will be happy to supply any other info you may desire. Derek can be contacted on 00353876081588 Regards Denise Frazer Secretary Whitecross Vintage Association
